Our head chef is gone in a week and a half. That makes two in one year, 5 in the two and a half years the place has been open. For those of you that have read my earlier and somewhat eratic postings, we’re on GM number four now. I have only been in the place for @ 11 months as of now.
A chance has come up to help out a relative of a family friend. Two months wk, cheap as living costs, and the chance to earn enough money to get to Aussie a lot quicker than I other wise would be able to. If I hand my notice in today, I will finish wk just 2 wks off from being there a year. I don’t think an employer would hold it against me if I went for a job interview, this place is just too unstable. Out of thirty + staff in the hotel, by the end of the month, only 6 of those who were there when I started will still be there, 3 front office, 3 house keeping.
We’re already one chef short, we have no new head chef lined up, and our new bkfst chef might as well sleep for her entire shift given how little wk gets accomplished. If I go there stuffed, especially since our senior chef would probably follow suit. It’s a pity they havent leart how to look after the staff.
I’m sure some hotels are actually worth working at, but this is just not fun anymore.
