C2C Culinary Bests of 2008 Save to MyRecipes

Postby ChefMod on Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:00 pm

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to draw everybody's attention to the following: C2C's Top 10 Culinary Bests. Now those who rank in the Top 10 of any of C2C's Top 100 categories can download a badge to feature on his/her site. The team is sending out press releases and featuring these lists on the home page.

I know a few people who frequent our forums are being honored on those lists (eg June w/ the top recipe), so I wanted to highlight them. Congrats!

Curious to know what happened to the Hall of Fame that was previously attached to the Top 100 Lists. Did you just erase all of that as if we didn't exist? or is the Hall still in existence, and if so, where is it?

Or if we want to be included, do we have to start all over again? ::confused_chef::

Inquiring minds want to know.

Hello June!

I haven't been in the loop on those types of site changes (I just do forum work and writing now), but wanted to let you know I sent your post to Alisa (Admin). I'm clueless! I'm sure she'll either swing by or pass along the info you requested very soon.

Hi Chef June,
Thanks very much for your question. Because the Chef2Chef Top 100 lists became such a popular feature on the site, we decided to turn it into a yearly feature so the "Best of 2009...2010...2011" could be celebrated in each category. We figured this would be an interesting way to track ever changing trends in the culinary world, while also introducing the Chef2Chef community to new blogs, chefs, and schools every year.

As part of the transition to yearly voting, the Hall of Fame unfortunately also came down. It was certainly NOT our intention to do away with the hard-earned recognition the Hall of Famers so justly deserve, and we're investigating if there is any way we can recover the list. In the meantime, please accept my sincere apology and feel free to make nominations for the next round of voting that will begin on January 1st, 2010!

Thanks,
Alisa

You are so right, Mike. Now we can't use it on our resumes any more because it doesn't exist. ::chef_mad::

Somehow "Oh, we just deleted it," doesn't cut it.

Thanks for the info, Alisa. I won't be participating in the new competitions. Been there, done that. It was a lot of work. I was pretty pleased to be able to use those kudos on my resume, but that has to come off now because you deleted the Hall of Fame.

Michael and June: I sent your comments to Alisa!

I can see if I can find an archived copy (Google archives). In the meantime, you could certainly list your accomplishments on your resume and provide C2C contact info for verification.
