Power Bar Recipe Save to MyRecipes

Postby Tanner24 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:26 am

Every homemade power or energy bar recipe I find either is really plain tasting and not soft enough. The consistency I am looking for is chewy and soft. I want to put dried fruits in there and maybe carmelize them. I would also like to know if
there is another base besides oats. Every one I make just seems to be blah. Thankx.

I haven't found one yet that I love, but I've found a couple energy ball recipes (usually peanut butter and protein powder based) that I've enjoyed well enough. Are you looking for flavor or functionality (ie support for your workout)?

I did Alton Browns recipe and it turned out gross. It was really chocky and the texture was terrible.

I haven't tried Alton's recipe. Will have to check it out.
