Postby ChefMod on Wed Sep 30, 2009 2:51 pm

Received the following email:

“HELL’S KITCHEN” IS NOW CASTING THE BEST CHEFS IN AMERICA!

FOX’s SIZZLING unscripted series “HELL’S KITCHEN” is back again as Chef Gordon Ramsay looks for the BEST of the BEST to work beside him in the HOTTEST kitchen on Earth! The nationwide casting call starts September 28, 2009, and we’re in search of America’s culinary elite who not only have the SKILLS, but the STAMINA to cook alongside the infamous, CHEF GORDON RAMSAY.

“HELL’S KITCHEN” will follow the chefs 24/7 through the perils of working in Chef Ramsay’s PRESSURE filled restaurant, capturing the wrath, emotion and adrenaline rush that comes with cooking in a top-notch restaurant. Contestants will have to prove they have the endurance and skills to work with Chef Ramsay, as they are pushed to their limits.

CASTING is searching for Chefs, 21 and over, who are outspoken, competitive and can stand the HEAT in one of the MOST EXCLUSIVE and TOUGHEST kitchens in the world. Applicants must be passionate, skilled at their craft and aim to become the next winner of “HELL’S KITCHEN.”

You will need to include the following:

1. Please include your name, occupation, a recent photo, and where you live.
2. Describe your personality and why you would be a good candidate for “Hell’s Kitchen”. Make sure you talk about your culinary experience and passion for the industry.
3. What kind of culinary training, if any, have you had?
4. WHY do you want to be on “Hell’s Kitchen”?
5. Explain why you will be the winner.

Is it still only open to US residents?

Have to say it rather ticked me off that this season's restaurant is the Araxi in Whistler, BC, CANADA--but Canadian applicants are not accepted.

I did not know that Canadian applicants were not accepted ?
That does not makany sense at all and I think that the Canadian Government shoud step in not let an US winner work at the ARAXi in Whistler. Fair is fair .

I love Canada. Your bacon is delicious. (just joking) Seriously though, don't feel bad, at least you guys know how to appreciate hockey.

I imagine it has something to do with taxation on prizes awarded.
Generally single country entrant contests that is the case.

Janis really doesn't know everything... We need an emoticon for bowing down.

I'm not sure, but you could contact them via the included email address. They've been pretty quick with their replies.

American producer, American director? There are no "known" Canadian Chef-stars (well... Vancouver's Rob Feenie, one of the few caucasian Iron Chef winners, but I digress)

Big deal, the producers paid to film in the restaurant, who gives a flying about about hiring locals?

And you wonder why I never watch TV? Why the remote was lost when we tossed out the couch last year?

"The Best Chefs in America"
Ummmm, okay.

The closest I'll ever get to Hell's Kitchen (and even this was too close)...
