you can buy one of those whip cream canisters, that you just pour whipping cream into. Then it automaticly whips the cream on demand.

if you buy high fat cream, and make sure everything is chilled, the whipped cream should last for 24 hours

for icing cakes with whipped cream alot of chefs use gelatin as a stablizer, this method could also be used to lenghten the life of the cream

Different stabilizers for different applications. What are you trying to do? Savory or sweet? Fridge or no?

I am going to get jump on here. Use a nondairy whip cream and it stands up. With the right ingridients it does not taste that bad. When adding melted chocolate it as thick as thick can be. I hope I am forgiven.

do you take cool whip and whip it more while adding melted white chocolate? I know quite a few people who love the taste of non-dairy whipped toppings over actual cream. For the lactose intolerant folk, (myself included) this could be a nice option.

I try not to completely avoid dairy products, keeps me from getting overly sensitive to them

I am going to do a puffed pastry with a trio fo fresh berries with a whipped cream dollop on top. I don't want to buy one of those gizmos, rather whip it myself. Any more suggestions on how to prolong the cream?

well like I said it lasts24 hours, but for large events I'd strenghthen it with gelatin, that will help it hold out of the fridge for long periods of time

Just made the whipped cream, and am keeping it stored in the bowl over a bowl of ice. Didn't have anything but strawberry jello at home tonight!! P.S. Are the blueberry prices outrageous everywhere??!! Geez

add soften gelatin to the whipped cream.

Try maybe also a lemon curd instead of the whipped cream
