Another good source is the hotelier and caterer (is the name I think) its a weekly publication, and used to be my link to what was happening in the rest of the uk, and they had a good recruitment section.

Another spot might be to try

www.chefsinscotland.co.uk

Again not a plug to them, just a good resource!

happy hunting,

Tom

im not sure what the kitchen is like where your working but if your working for a "well known" chef then you shouldnt have to leave without a job lined up. if you work hard for a chef i've found that they work just as hard to get you into the best kitchen possible and good uk chefs have alot of connections with the rest of europe.

Hey sammael,
I worked 5 years in the UK as a chef for hotel chain RadissonSAS. The standards in most of the hotels are quiet high as well, I'm sure you've heard of the Radissonsas in Glasgow, where I worked for one and a half year.
Depends on what your goals are, but I think it is easier to work for a good chain rather than an independant restaurant. You can learn about local cultures whitout losing that "international" feeling.I'm back in my native belgium now, if you have questions about anything, just post them to me...

Bonne chance...

hey eknath,

have a look for vacancies on www.radissonsas.com (follow the "about us" link). A demi chef earns between £11500/A and £14000 /A before tax and ofcourse depending on experience. this is for a standard week, so overtime would be extra, depending on your contract. In london salaries might be higher, but living there is more expensive, to say the least.
Good luck
