CEC Test Save to MyRecipes

Postby corntoe on Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:05 pm

I am taking the CEC written test in a few days and was wondering if anyone has taken it. I have studied and been taking the CEC test on eculinary.com and was wondering how alike the two tests are? If anyone knows please let me know.

Chef chris basically they are the same.
Nothing to worry about.

Advanced baking 5 of 5
Advanced Cooking 20 of 25
Basic Baking 10 of 10
Basic Cooking 15 of 15
Nutrition 15 of 15
Sanitation 15 of 15
Supervisory Management 15 of 15

Not much culinary math, but still take an calculater.
2 # 5 pencils.

you will do just fine.good luck.
let me know the outcome.

I was provided a pad of paper, a pencil and a calculator. I hope you study a bit.

I have beeen scoring 95 percent and up on the eculinary cec practice test. I have studied all my brain can handle. If the questions are the same or simular this will be a breeze. I have done the practice examine about 100 times so far and studied the prochef book

if i recall correctly he will tell you to type out your menu

as you would if you were to sell those items.state the type

of cuisine or origin, such as classical french or eclectic

etc...gather your mis-en -place,make sure all classical cut

are uniformed,i believe you will need to bring in your own

plates to serve your food, stay within your window,oh very

very important 1 infraction on sanitation they will fail you.so make sure you look sharp proper shoes and polished, cleaned and pressed chefs uniform.purchase his DVD on taking this practical exam.i'm sure it will help get you ready.

as for the list of ingredients you will be using in the exam, practice, practice and do more practice until you are able to do this menu in your sleep.

oh... by the way did i mention you can bring your own potwasher?

good luck Chef Chris CEC

I am back with great results. I scored a 97% on the written test this weekend. And yes the test questions are the same as the eculinary cec practice examine. The test took me a whole 15 minutes to complete. I have never been so prepared.

Off to the pracitcal now.
