The Non-Commercial Food Service Manager's Handbook Save to MyRecipes

Postby SaraCooks on Tue Jul 24, 2007 8:03 pm

I'm searching for resources. Has anyone checked out The Non-Commercial Food Service Manager's Handbook:A Complete Guide for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Military, Prisons, Schools, And Churches The Non-Commercial Food Service Manager's Handbook ?

At 55-$79 it's a bit pricey to buy on a whim and my local library certainly doesn't have it Image

Have you looked at Mastercook 9.0? It includes a copy of "Food for Fifty" as well as a cookbook of the recipes.

Thank you. I actually have mastercook 7 I think and we're using Food for Fifty recipes.
I just wanted to see more of the operations side. The handbook looks a little general for me.

www.DMAONLINE.ORG Dietary Manager Association, a great resource for what you are looking for. They also have a great chat area with alot of experienced operators participating.

Thank you for this. Ironically I was just looking at them for training options. I'm considering taking an on-line course to become a certified dietary manager. Their continuing ed looks outstanding as well. Very specific to what I'll be doing.
