So Simple Cold Orange Drink Save to MyRecipes

Postby sophia on Wed Aug 08, 2007 12:50 am

I just remembered this orange drink we've been making for 'decades'. I must have tried two dozen recipes before I found this simple one, and it excels them all in my opinion. There are no powdered ingredients, egg whites, or concentrates. It's very sweet, and like drinking a dreamsicle. If you make it and use Splenda, use less than half the amount listed here; it is very sweet.

Dreamsicle Drink

1 c ready-made orange juice; I use Tropicana
1/2 c milk
1/4 c sugar, Nutri Sweet or Splenda
1/2 t vanilla
5 or 6 ice cubes

Blend all but ice in blender. When well mixed, add ice cubes one at a time. Best yet 'Orange Julius'. (3) 6-oz. servings.

Should'nt there be a bit of Triple sec in there?

Oh, the four-year-old doesn't much care for it.

But, hey, if you think it would taste better, go for it! Image

Best yet 'Orange Julius'.

Thanks for this Sophia!
Even though I'm not a fan of drinks like this, my 21 yr old Daughter is...(with or without the Triple Sec!) Image

She'd be delighted if I surprised her with this!

Costco, here I come for some more Tropicana!

Thanks for the reminder to make these.

I use about 1 cup vanilla ice cream, fresh squeezed oranges, half banana, few ice cubes in the blender.
